Investor Awareness
Dear Investor,

An investor in the financial market is one who augments his funds in profitable industrial, commercial and services projects; and it is for this reason that he always seeks long-term results and does not preoccupy himself much with the daily price fluctuations but rather concentrates on the general trend of the market and share index in the long run, recognizing that share prices never remain the same for long periods as a result of the alternate rise and fall cycles.

Dear Investor,

Borrowing – especially in excess of your capability of repaying from your own resources – for the purpose of investing in the securities market, represents a risk of insecure consequences and could also cause you multiple losses.  It is preferable to invest part of your funds which you have managed to save after having repaid your obligations and satisfied your needs.

Dear Investor,

For the investor, it is not only important to follow up the daily price fluctuations: what is more important is to concentrate on the general trend of market and share indices in the long run.  This is similar to a yoyo game in the hand of a small boy climbing a hill: do not preoccupy yourself watching the swinging movement of the yoyo up and down between the boy's hands, and ignoring the route his climbing steps are taking towards the top of the hill.

Dear Investor,

Beware of following your sentiments and internal feelings, rushing to sell prompted by fear lest prices should fall (in the case of a falling cycle) or to buy out of wishful thinking that the price will continue to rise (in the case of a rising cycle).  Base your decision on reason and logic and set for yourself a clear investment plan defining your goals and policy for entering and exiting the market.

Dear Investor,

Joining others and imitating them adversely affects your investments, because if you are the last of a long line of share purchasers the share price will be high and if you are the last of a long line of share sellers the price will be low; this means a loss resulting from purchasing a share at a high price and selling it at a low value.

Dear Investor,

If you are not sufficiently experienced in investments in the share markets, you can invest in investment funds or portfolios – those licensed by approved bodies – after studying their performance and policies; such investment funds have qualified staff to manage your funds and are known for their diversified investments and mitigated risks.

Dear Investor,

Certain speculators tend, sometimes, to exploit electronic forums and the media in steering the market for their own benefit by providing share price projections not based on subjective financial analysis.  Do not rely on broadcast or published projections/forecasts, unless they are supported by the opinion of independent analysts known for their integrity.

Dear Investor,

The phenomenon of leaking information to a particular category of investors, which is done by certain well-informed board directors and managers is immoral conduct which is contrary to laws and prejudicial to the national economy.
